Getting started
Welcome to the Tabula App!
The Tabula App is a professional tool that extends Tabula's power beyond the vehicle, allowing your team to capture, manage, and act on crucial field data—even when completely offline.
It’s built to be fast, intuitive, and ready for any condition, providing seamless oversight from the field to the office. The app complements your existing Tabula system, making it perfect for managing all work performed without vehicle support.
This guide will help you master the basics of tasking, scouting, and data collection right from your phone or tablet.
Setup & Account
- Download the Tabula app from the Apple App Store (for iOS) or the Google Play Store (for Android).
- Sign into your Account using your same username and password as your Tabula Live account OR register for a new one.
- Grant essential permissions when first opening the app to ensure proper operation in the field:
- Location Services: Tabula uses your device's GPS to assign location-based tasks, view your position on the map, and geotag your observations. Please select "Allow While Using App" for the best experience.
- Camera & Photos: This permission is needed to capture photos for tasks and observations and attach them to your reports.
- Notifications: Allow notifications so you can receive real-time alerts for new task assignments and important team updates.

The Interface
- Home: Check here for a summarised list of Tasks assigned and completed by you and your Team.
- Map: This is your central hub. The map displays all your spatial data in one place allowing you to see the precise location of existing tasks and observations. You can see your precise location as well as create new Tasks and Observations in real time by using large blue Add Task Button Plus (+).
- Tasks: This is your to-do list. Here you can view a list format of all tasks assigned to you, filter them by or status, category, and access their details.
- Observations: Use this section for field scouting. When you see something that needs to be recorded—like signs of pests, plant disease, or damaged equipment—you can quickly capture it here with notes and photos. You, or your operations manager, can then decide when to convert these observations into tasks at a later date.
